The machine that was invented called the “crane” is equipped and fitted with a derrick or so also known as a tower. Cranes are used to lift materials to a specified height with pulleys and cables that are installed with it so that it can do its purpose, while it can raise and lift things, it can also lower materials with the use of its pulleys and cranes also. The construction industry and those that work within the heavy equipment manufacturing companies have the mindset that cranes are an essential part of their business since cranes help them ease their work and create some breathing space for their workers on the ground, cranes have the ability to do various activities that are intertwined with the process of building a structure. Cranes that are used in the construction industry are naturally and mostly a temporary structure that does not last long, it is built or mounted on a vehicle which the vehicle is specifically built to be able to carry the temporary crane or it can also be fixed to the ground either way is alright and being done.
Various methods of controlling cranes are present with the help of modern technology and the construction industry have different methods in doing the controlling, such controlling methods are the normal and common radio control to the more complex infrared control to even also the more common control type which is a control station in where a person is required to man the station in which the person that is manning has to do all the commanding of the crane. If the control type is that of a control station a standardized hand signal is being used to communicate between the person that is operating in the control station to the hard working construction personnel on the ground. Materials would be saved from being damaged and the structure would be easier to build if a crane is able to function at its maximum capacity, this can be done through well trained and experienced crane crews that are already experts when it comes to the insides and outsides of a crane, such as hand signals, crane controls, signal lights, etc.
When it comes to cranes being reliable or safe to the health of the personnel on the ground then it can be a question that would be hard to answer, in the last several years there had been a sharp increase in bad injuries and even death that has resulted from crane accidents. Construction companies have invested a lot of funds for the improvement of cranes whether be it technologically or just simple education programs for those that are using it to combat the high risk of crane related accidents.
